TEDxIfe: 1000 voices

In 2014, TEDxIfe is more interesting than it has ever been. In the spirit of solving x, TEDxIfe has introduced 1000 voices.
More things have happened by talking than by keeping quiet, doing nothing, folding hands and watching. So this year, TEDxIfe has decided to let everyone to talk on a platform where they can be heard. Not everyone can come on stage at TEDxIfe, yet everyone can have their say through 1000 voices.


Each person has a voice. That means each person has an idea. We want 1000 of these voices. We want people to speak on how they are finding, identifying and solving their x’es. We want people to speak on life’s badgering complexities and how they have addressed them over time. TEDxIfe is looking for 1000 of those voices from all over the county. If we have 1000 voices, then we have 1000 people thinking of 1,000 different ways to address their x’es.
We are faced with life’s complexities. Things that affect our day-to-day existence, challenge our conventions, draw us out of our shell and break us out of the confines of familiar walls. These complexities are the variables we call ‘x’. Each person has their x’s to solve
So what is your x and what is x to you?
We are asking that the ingenuity and answers we have searched for are revealed in your voice. We know they are bottled up in your unspoken words.
Through 1,000 voices, each person goes to the TEDxIfe website and records his/her voice for 30 seconds, speaks about his/her own x, and how it is being solved. 1000 voices is an aim to consolidate these voices, eager, contributory voices to a cause of solving our x-like complexities. Each person plays his own role by putting out his voice in the array of voices that will be unveiled at TEDxIfe.
Like a montage, the answers to questions hidden somewhere within each person come together to form one large picture; a mosaic of voices- one large voice picture- that we can all hear and see, today and every other day.
1000 voices is open to everyone, both young and old. It is different from the 1000 attendees to be selected for TEDxIfe through the online applications.
The 1000 voices voice montage will be unveiled at TEDxIfe 2014.
